Here are a few of my own. I pieced and quilting them (on my Simply Sixteen by HandiQuilter) and yes ..... on my Back Porch!

My Quilts!

This is not one of my creations, but was hand sewn by either my Grannie Baxter or my Great Grannie. My Aunt Annie could not remember. She gave me this quilt top. I am going to hand quilt it.
I love the fabric!! I've tried finding info on the little girl w/the umbrella but haven't been able to yet.

Happy Mother's Day!

Well, it's Mother's Day and I'm missing my Mom terribly. Happy Mother's Day Mom!

Well, it's a happy Mother's Day for Mrs. Cardinal. Her little baby has "flown the coop" so to speak! The nest is missing a baby bird! Little Cardinal Jr. has flown the coop! He was there yesterday evening but gone this morning. Dad and Mom were kind of panicky yesterday while Leon and I were mowing (we were getting to close to Jr.) so they may have encouraged him to move. I think is was big enough to fly, at least I saw it jump up to a higher branch the other day, which surprised me when I got to close. All that was left in the nest this morning was the egg that didn't hatch. :(

What's up with this weather?

It's Saturday and I have the day off. It's raining outside and I was hoping to finally plant my topsy turvey tomato planter today. I've had it for 3 years now (still in the box) and I'm growing little tomato plants from seeds and I think they are ready to plant in that hangy upside down planter. Hmmp! Oh well, I guess I'll just have to quilt. My longarm is on my back porch. There's lots to do on my back porch. I can quilt, I can walk on the treadmill or workout on the other equipment (yuck, that's no fun) or I can quilt or I can look outside the window at our current back porch resident. Mr. and Mrs. Cardinal. I'm not sure what their first names are yet, but her and her hubby moved in about 3 weeks ago and as far as I can tell they have 1 offspring and 1 unhatched egg. The baby is soooo cute! Leon tried to get a pic of it but they did not come out. I'll keep trying. The momma bird is used to us and let me get really close to take her photo, but daddy is a bit more timid. He is a good daddy though. He brings bugs to junior but will fly away if he catches me peering through the window at him. I'll keep trying to get a good photo of junior and post it. Well, I think Charlie and Sam are done licking all the dishes clean so I need to get the vaccum cleaner out so they can finish my housework chores so I can get to more important things.....quilting!!!
